Malam ni, Siri Tips Phd kita adalah satu bentuk motivasi. Jika 'mereka' boleh, mengapa 'kita' tak boleh?
MEREKA = calon PhD veteran
KITA = calon PhD sedang-sedang
Gambar ini dipos oleh anak kepada Pakcik ini, yang juga seorang calon PhD dengan description seperti di bawah:
To all fellow DSGians who is thinking of quiting.. please allow me to introduce to you, my dad, in his 'office' . He is checking his refences for the bibliography section of his thesis. He just turned 70 last March. Yup this is at 11pm, April 20th. He said, he is doing it for his own satisfaction. So there, come on boys n girls, lifelong learning, awaits. Daebak!!!
Dan di bawah ini pula komen-komen yang dibalas, menceritakan tentang kisah si ayah yang sangat gigih semangatnya. Ini bukan tentang ayah beliau semata-semata, ini tentang semangat tidak kenal erti putus asa.
Hahaa not really his office. He said his office at home is too small. His current 'office' is the living room. So berkorban apa saja.
Haha .. memang comel esp bila mejanya beranjak sekeliling rumah, mengikut mood dan pandangan dia nak tgk bila menulis. Bila beranjak ruang, memang kawasan buat kerja tu memang tak boleh kemas, bila dikemas artikel tak jumpa. So bertabahlah.
Yup, kat kerusi pun tampal kertas. My dad is a visual learner n that also helps him to focus the key questions in his study, so his discussion will revolve around those main issues. Being 70, he is IT challenged, his documents are everywhere on his desktop, looking for stuff may take some time, so some things have to be done old school- kertas, color stickers, fluorescent markers. My bro n sis are his "technical advisors", but the body of work is definitely his. So to those amongst DSGians who thinks they are IT challenged, think again. My advice.. GO ON! Dont be afraid to have a messy office, be comfortable in yr home office, its YOUR area, yours!! Cheers, all.
Ok let me add this before I go off, my dad is a late starter, started of as a teacher, had a family, did his degree in his 40s with half pay while bringing up a family with 3 small kids , his Masters in his 50s, part time. No SLAB or SLAI, nothing. So yes, to those of us who are very fortunate to continue our studies right after our SPM, some sponsored n full time...(again, this is NOT about my dad, but the passion to get on with it that I hope will inspire you). So let's try harder before giving up, ok. Ta
So amacam? Malu tak? Hahaha...Sya tak mau komen panjang. Jom kita muhasabah diri.
